Desert Rock

Written in 1995, when it was just called “Desert”. Andreas “Bimman” Chadien, who was not in the band at the time, joins in on the backing vocals.

All my memories, my friends and my family,
I've changed to a better man, I hope you will understand.
I was wrong, I was wrong, now I'm gone!
Yes, I'm gone!

When nowhere is where you are, you dream of a superstar,
he asks you to come along, to bring your guitar and a song.
Come along, don't be long,
bring your song!

Well, I'm just a lucky man, you don't need to understand,
I don't wanna be your man, just to rock and to roll,
it's my call: if I rock and I roll, we won't fall.

And Jesus, the better man, he learned how to understand
that life is to live and die. He cried to his mother:
I was wrong, I was wrong, what went wrong?
Now I'm gone.

And Jesus, was who you are, try not to count the stars,
Jesus Christ superstar, he cried to his mother:
I was wrong, I was wrong, now I'm gone.
For even though who you are, you don't need a superstar
to ask you to come along, to sing and to play rock'n'roll.
